How Do I Create Measurement Tokens and Calculations in JobNimbus Financials?

Measurement Tokens

Before you set up your Calculations, make sure that you have entered the necessary Measurement Tokens. Measurement Tokens are used in conjunction with Calculations to efficiently determine the necessary quantity of materials for the project you are estimating.

  • To set up your Measurement Tokens, click on your profile picture or initials in the top right corner and choose Settings from the dropdown menu.

  • Under the Settings menu on the left-hand side under Estimating, select Estimate Settings.

  • On the Estimate Settings menu on the left-hand side of the page, select the Measurement Tokens option.
  • Predefined Tokens for Roofing and Wall categories have already been included in your account.
  • To add new categories, simply click on the +Category button and type in your new category name.
  • To add new Tokens, click on the +Token button at the bottom of the category that you are currently viewing, type in your new Token name and select a unit of measure from the dropdown.
Once you have added your Measurement Tokens, you are ready to add them to your Calculations as outlined in the sections below.

Managing Calculations

  • Click on your profile picture or initials in the top right corner and choose Settings from the dropdown menu.

  • Under the Settings menu on the left-hand side under General, select Products & Services.

  • At the top of the Products & Services page, select the Manage Calculations button in the top right of the page.

  • Here, you will find the Calculations tab and the Products tab.
    • Under the Calculations tab, you will find a list of pre-built formulas that you can edit to link to a product. 
      • To edit a formula, click the pencil icon and enter the Calculation details on the next page.
      • You can also configure your calculations by clicking on the +Calculation button and using the steps in the Configuring Calculations section below.
    • Under the Products tab, you will find your Product list.
      • Here, you can search for a product by using the search bar and the filter options to filter by company location and unit of measure. You can also filter for products that have no calculation applied.
      • Click on the desired product and create a new calculation by clicking on the +Calculation button. Then, follow the instructions in the Configuring Calculations section below.
      • To add a product to an existing calculation, click on the desired product, then click the Add to existing button and select the calculation you would like to associate it with.

Configuring Calculations

  • To configure your Calculations and add Tokens, select the +Calculation button in the top right corner. 
  • Here, enter the following information:
  1. Your Calculation Name.
  2. The Unit of Measure that you would like to apply to the Calculation by selecting one from the dropdown menu.
  3. Build a Formula and select the Tokens button to choose from the list of existing Tokens.
    1. You may also select the Copy Formula button to copy a formula from an existing Calculation.
  4. Select your Rounding preference by selecting an option from the dropdown menu.
  5. Test your Formula.
  • Once you have entered this information, select the Continue button at the top of the page.
  • On the next page, select the Product that you would like to assign to that formula. Once you are finished, select the Save Calculation button in the top right corner.
