QBO Error – “QuickBooks Payment Method Is Not Linked in JobNimbus.”
Explanation: This means there is a payment method used in your QuickBooks account that JobNimbus does not recognize. JobNimbus matches the payment types in Quickbooks Online through the most closely named method.
Payment methods JobNimbus uses:
-
JobNimbus Credit Card: Quickbooks payment method where type is Credit Card
-
JobNimbus Check: Quickbooks payment method where method name is "check" or "cheque" and type is not Credit Card
-
JobNimbus Money Order: Quickbooks payment method where method name contains "moneyorder" or "money" or "order" and type is not Credit Card
-
JobNimbus Bank Wire: Quickbooks payment method where method name contains "bank" or "e-transfer" or "direct debit" or "wire" and type is not Credit Card
-
JobNimbus Finance: Quickbooks payment method where method name contains "finance" or "loan" and type is not Credit Card. **Please note: ‘Financing’ will not link.
How to Fix:
The payment method in QuickBooks must include a word that JobNimbus will recognize to link to one of the default payment methods in JobNimbus.
- Locate your payment method list in your QuickBooks account
- QuickBooks > Settings (Gear icon) > All Lists > Payment Methods
- Edit an existing payment to include the method or add a new payment method
-
Example of an ACH payment in QB: I will add “bank wire” to the payment method which will now map to "bank wire" in JobNimbus
-
- Retry the record in JobNimbus
- Payments using the payment method in question should be updated automatically and will now be able to sync.
When syncing to QBO, there is a limit of 2 payment method types. In other words, ‘Check’ can only be used twice, etc. If QBO has three payment methods using the word ‘Check,’ one of them will not sync.
