Do you need to keep track of how long it takes to complete tasks in JobNimbus? Do you need help creating goals to increase customer satisfaction? JobNimbus has the feature for you. The Time Tracking feature allows your team members to create completion goals and record their time on specific tasks within the JobNimbus app. This can help you know just how long it takes to complete tasks in the field or in the office.
Here, we will go over how to enable the feature and how to use Time Tracking in JobNimbus.
Before we get Started
To use Time Tracking, you will need to enable the feature. To enable the feature, click on your name in the top right corner and select "Settings" from the drop-down menu. From your settings, select "Features" from the menu on the left, and then click on the "Enable" button to the right in the Time Tracking row.
You can use the time tracking feature to track hours and minutes spent on tasks and jobs inside JobNimbus. You can even set target goals for the amount of time you want to spend on a job and then see how well you or your team is doing with those goals, helping you improve your processes and make sure your team members are spending their time on the most important things.
Using Time Tracking
You can use the time tracking feature wherever you see your tasks. To use time tracking, you can use time estimation and time logging.
After time tracking is enabled, a new option labeled Time Estimate will appear when creating or editing a task.
To enter time into this text field, use the short code in the example. For an estimated time of 3 weeks, use 3w. For 4 days, use 4d, 12 hours, 12h, and 30 minutes, 30m.
After the time has been added, click "Create Task", or "Save" if the task has already been created.
Once the estimated time is recorded, it will show in both the Dashboard and Tasks tab.
In the Tasks tab for the Contact, the estimated time will show up in the task and a graph will appear in the contact information, showing the percentage of the completed time you have recorded in your tasks vs the time you allotted to your tasks.
After you have included an estimated time for the task, you can log time for the task. You can log time for the task in the Dashboard, Tasks tab, and calendar.
To log time in the calendar, click on the task, which will pull up the task information on the right side of the page. In the task information, click on the 3 dots in the upper right corner and select "Log Time" from the drop-down menu.
To log time in either the Dashboard or Tasks tab, click on the 3 dots to the right of the task and select "Log Time" from the dropdown menu.
Selecting Log Time will pull up the Log Time window.
In the Log Time window, you can:
- Change the user who is working on the task
- Log the time spent. To enter time into this text field, use the short code in the example. For a logged time of 3 weeks, use 3w. For 4 days, use 4d, 12 hours, 12h, and 30 minutes, 30m.
- Change the start date of the logged time.
- Add a description for the logged time. This description will show up in the Activity tab in the task view.
After you have logged the time, the percentage of task completion will show in several places. In the Tasks tab, you will see the pie graph update with the time completion percentage. This is the percentage of the completed time you have recorded in your tasks vs the time you allotted to your tasks when you estimated how much time it would take to complete the task. In the task row, a bar graph will show the percentage of time completed for that particular task. The bar graph will also show with the task in the Dashboard, and will be logged in the activity for the task, which can be viewed when selecting "View" from the task drop-down menu.
Reporting on Logged Time
You can use custom reports to help you in reporting on time tracking. After the time tracking feature is enabled, a new option in the custom reporting drop-down menu will be available, "Create Time Log Report". This will give a report of the task and time logged.
