How Do I Create an Automation To Move a Contact to Another Status After a Period of Time?

This Time-based Automation is helpful when you want to move old leads to a "lost" Status or to simply automate the Contact's progress.


  1. Choose the "Time based" trigger type
  2. Select the "Contact" trigger record
  3. Run this automation: "X " (Where X is the amount of time in Minutes, Hours, Days, Weeks, Months, or Years) "After" "Date Status Changed"
  4. Select +Add Condition
    1. If Type is equal to "Residential Retail" (Workflow Types vary depending on your settings)
  5. Select +Add Condition again
    1. If Status is equal to "Lead" (Status names may vary depending on your Workflow)
  6. Check the radio for "Require all conditions to be true"
  7. Select +Add Action
  8. Choose the "Change Status" Action
  9. Select the Workflow Type
  10. Choose the "Lost" Status (Names may vary depending on your Workflow)
  11. Save the Rule when you are finished
